Nea Mathla, also known as Eneah Emathla, was an Alabama-born Creek Indian leader who became a prominent figure among the Seminoles in Florida. He was a leader during the First Seminole War and later opposed the Treaty of Payne's Landing, which aimed to force the removal of Seminole people from Florida.
The engraving measures approximately 5.25 inches by 9 inches. Age related toning, particularly on edges. Pencil notation to reverse.
