Description
This is a vintage Japanese Creative Kokeshi (Sosaku Kokeshi) handmade by Inosuke Kobayashi (1931~2000) Title : Girl.
Creative Kokeshi emerged in mid-20th century Japan and are individually designed works that emphasize artistic expression, natural wood, and unique character rather than regional lineage.

Inosuke Kobayashi is regarded as a pioneer of creative kokeshi, free from the constraints of traditional kokeshi forms.
His works possess a high level of artistic quality, often described as wooden sculptures rather than mere dolls.
Through their refined silhouettes, his distinctive sensibility is evident in every detail.
He is an accomplished artist who has received numerous awards, including the Prime Minister’s Award.

This piece features exceptionally fine linework and intricate surface detailing, created using a technique resembling woodburning (pyrography), combined with hand-painted elements.
