Japanese Buddhist Altar Fitting Orin Bell with Resin Stand This is a vintage Japanese orin bell for Buddhist altars. It contains a brass bowl with a dark brown wooden striker. It rests on a red, green, and gold silk pillow with a red tassel and on a hexagonal black-and-gold resin stand. Singing bowls are sounded during ritual prayer. Orin Bell's sound can reach the Buddha in the Pure Land. It is also used to ward off people's evil spirits and convey prayers to the Buddha, ancestors, and the deceased through sound.
