This is a handcrafted ukulele "F's Uke" made by Tatsuhiro Kobayashi, a disciple of Koji Chai, founder of the renowned Chai Guitar Workshop known for producing many great luthiers. Tatsuhiro Kobayashi trained for 12 years at Chai's workshop in Machida City, developing a deep expertise in string instrument craftsmanship. In 2010, he established his own workshop in Iruma City, Saitama Prefecture, and later relocated to Hokota City, Ibaraki Prefecture, where he continues to study and refine his craft, aiming to create exceptional ukuleles comparable to legendary string instruments. His work is highly regarded by professional musicians and has been featured in specialized publications.
This model features a spruce top and rosewood sides and back, offering a sound reminiscent of a blend between a guitar and a ukulele. It is a concert-sized model, embodying Kobayashi's unique approach to ukulele design. The sound is bright and lively, with a high-quality appearance accentuated by wood binding. While there are minor scratches and signs of use not visible in the images, the overall condition is excellent. The frets are in good condition with plenty of remaining life, and the neck is well-maintained, making this ukulele ready for immediate use.
