Obverse (designed by Mateusz Frąckowiak): Bödvar stands bound in chains — powerless before an enemy he cannot yet fight — as his village burns around him and his wife Astrid collapses in the foreground. It is among the most narratively ambitious obverse designs Germania Mint has produced: a coin that tells a story rather than simply depicting a symbol, demanding to be read as much as admired. Pain, fury, and the merciless hand of fate are all present simultaneously.

Reverse: Mount Thorbjørn — a monumental rocky massif taking the form of a roaring bear — dominates the composition, symbolizing the divine strength and primal power that underpins Bödvar's world. The Sowilo rune is carved into the bear's forehead, a rune of victory and unstoppable force pointing toward what Bödvar's quest will ultimately demand of him. Waterfalls flow from the bear's mouth into the rivers below. A runic circle frames the outer ring, a Germanic shield bearing the double-headed eagle sits among the bear's stone teeth, and chains wrap the entire composition — linking Bödvar's personal fate to the mythological landscape of the saga.
