Product Overview: This is a rare, high-quality Japanese Natural Whetstone (JNAT) from the famous Okudo (奥殿) mine in Kyoto. Known as a Shouhonyama (正本山), this stone is specifically a Suita (巣板), highly prized for its fast cutting speed and beautiful finish.

Features:

  • Type: Suita (巣板) – Known for a unique "sticky" slurry that sharpens quickly and evenly.

  • Hardness: Medium-Hard (やや硬口) – Provides excellent feedback and stability during sharpening.

  • Grit: Fine Finishing Stone – Ideal for final edge refinement of kitchen knives, wood chisels, and razors.

  • Origin: Kyoto, Yamashiro region (Okudo mine).

  • Condition: Pre-flattened and ready to use.

  • Visuals: Features natural "Suji" (lines) and color patterns characteristic of authentic natural stones. These do not affect the sharpening performance.
