1993 Chas Roberts Columbus Max 63cm Steel Frame & Foks

Also includes Dura-Ace 7400 BB & Headset (both in excellent condition - BB is buttery smooth, headset feels great as is, but may benefit from a quick re-grease when building the frame back up)

Fillet braised head tube, with Campagnolo braze on front mech hanger & internal cable routing in the top tube for the rear brake.

Frame number 931112

Lovely pearlescent blue paintwork, with what look to be all original decals etc…

Paintwork in lovely condition on the whole as you’ll see - few scuffs to the lower left leg on the non drive side & minimal chain suck, but there is a small bit of blistering / bubbling in places on the seat tube as shown - I’ve checked it over thoroughly & included super sized pictures of the worst bit - which is on the back part of the seat tube, facing the rear wheel (see final 4 or 5 pics) & it is purely cosmetic & on the surface - presumably from a reaction with road surface water at some point in its life.

The only other thing to mention is that there’s a tiny fragment of something that occasionally rattles around in one of the fork legs if you vigorously shake them - presume it’s an old bit of solder or such like, as they are completely sealed, with no way to have got anything in there, & there is absolutely no sign of any corrosion or such like to any part of the outside of the forks as shown.

I bought this not so long ago, primarily for the immaculate Dura-Ace 7400 groupset & a few other bits & pieces that I’ve migrated to another bike - unfortunately it’s too big for me at 63cm & would really only be suited to someone 6’ 4” plus.

Dura-Ace BB & Headset worth a fair bit on their own in this sort of condition, but I didn’t need them for my other build, so am leaving them on to hopefully help the new owner get started.

63cm measured centre (of BB) to top (of seat tube).

60cm top tube length, measured centre (of head tube) to centre (of seat tube).

Please bear in mind that it is a 33yr old frame & forks, & I have been very thorough in my photos & description.

Unsure of exactly how to price it, as it’s a pretty rare frameset, with not a lot of recent sales to compare it to - so thought I’d do a good job of listing it, & let the market decide.

Happy to safely box up & post nationwide via Parcelforce for £15.95, or collection is absolutely great too, from LE14 4HS (between Nottingham & Melton Mowbray).

Alternatively - I could meet in Leicester / Derby / Nottingham etc… for a bit of help towards Diesel 👍🙂
