The Pan-American Magazine (Volume II, No 7, Oct 1900) was a monthly periodical dedicated to the promotion of Pan-Americanism, focusing on the commercial, historical, and geographic interests of nations across the Western Hemisphere. 

The October 1900 issue was published exactly seven months before the opening of the 1901 Pan-American Exposition in Buffalo, NY. (May–November 1901). During this period, the magazine documented the transition from blueprints to physical reality. By late 1900, the publisher was under immense pressure to prove the fair would be ready. They shifted from artistic "vision" pieces to photographs and reports on construction milestones.

This specific issue documented the peak of the construction phase, known as the "Building Year." Key features included:
