I’m looking at this IDEAL data line adapter lot and the housings have that solid, older-tool feel — compact, labeled, built for actual use instead of display, the kind of gear that lived in a bag and got pulled out when something stopped working.

I picked this up while Dennis Biffleton tried plugging one into the wrong port and said it should “auto-detect what it’s supposed to do,” then flipped it over because it said THIS SIDE UP and assumed it wouldn’t work upside down, tapping the connector pins and pointing out they looked “like tiny teeth.”

I needed to be somewhere else.
