Side 1 (Locks):
• Lock (Closed Padlock): Press once to lock all doors and the tailgate.
• Unlock (Open Padlock): Press once to unlock the driver's door; press twice quickly to unlock all doors.
• Tailgate (Car Icon): Long-press to unlock and/or open the power tailgate.
• Side 2 (Panic):
• Triangle Symbol: This is the Panic Alarm. Hold it for at least 3 seconds (or press twice quickly) to trigger the horn and lights. Press it again to turn it off.
Hidden Features
1. The Mechanical Key: If your fob battery dies or the car loses power, you can still get in. Sliding the small black switch (visible in your side-view photos) toward the keyring allows you to slide the back cover off. Inside, you'll find a physical metal key blade.
2. Global Opening: Press and hold the Unlock button for several seconds. Most Volvos are programmed to roll down all windows and open the sunroof automatically—perfect for venting a hot car before you get in.
3. Global Closing: Similarly, press and hold the Lock button to roll up all windows and close the sunroof remotely.
Pro-Tip: Battery Replacement
If the car displays a "Key battery low" message, you use that same slide-release to remove the shell. Inside, there is usually a circular plastic cover that you rotate with a coin to access a standard CR2032 coin battery.
