[What is Visible Light Transmittance] This is a numerical value that represents the amount of light that passes through the lens. It is displayed from 0% to 100% with the naked eye being 100%. The lower the number the darker the lens as it does not transmit light. [What is Polycarbonate] Polycarbonate which is used in SWANS sunglasses is a resin with excellent impact resistance and transparency and is a material that is also used in aircraft windshields and spacesuit helmets. Because it is highly resistant to impact and less likely to break and even if it does break the fragments will not scatter it is a very safe material for sports sunglasses lenses. SWANS uses its own scratch-resistant lens Petroid Lens which is based on this polycarbonate.
