The 8577274 Dryer Thermistor prevents the dryer from overheating by controlling the temperature inside of the dryer drum. Its resistance decreases as the dryer temperature increases. Once the resistance is at the maximum, the control panel will shut off the heat. Once the temperature decreases and the resistance increases, it will allow the control panel to turn on the heat for another cycle.
