SCARCE FIND!!

(NOTE: The Dial Caliper and the Black Plastic Ring seen in the pictures are NOT INCLUDED in this Listing.)

Our staff is excited to have been provided the opportunity to have acquired a limited quantity of NEW OLD STOCK true, VINTAGE-era Smith & Wesson Ejector Rods, that were kept in safe keeping in the inventory of a now-retired gunsmith's parts inventory. Condition of the examples in the "Lot" we've acquired vary, from Very Good (at the very least), to Nice, to Fine, to Exceptionally Nice condition. We will ONLY be Listing a few of these at a time - condition of each example varying slightly - based on our current production demand in our own shop. Each Listing, as seen here, will present each Ejector Rod individually and the pictures and the measurements and any detractions present are all of the EXACT ITEM YOU WILL RECEIVE.

There may be small nicks, rub marks, scratches, thinning or variations in the bluing in some spots, "bin marks" from storage, or evidence of tooling from the manufacturing process when these Ejector Rods were machined. SEE PHOTOS FOR SPECIFIC CONDITION OF THE ITEM LISTED. The Ejector Rod in this listing is a VINTAGE Ejector Rod that would have been milled on a lathe, with a tip that was also individually knurled by a human being - this is NOT a "modern" Metal-Injected Molded part. The Bluing is Factory Original and the Rod maintains the vast majority of its original finish. Although there may be minor detractions in the Finish, there is no evidence of any attempts to "touch-up" any of the Bluing, anywhere on the Rod. Priced accordingly, for a Period-Correct, scarcely seen Ejector Rod that may not be "pristine, museum condition", but offers the Buyer a chance to get their hands on a fully-blued, decent condition, cost-effective solution to replace their existing Ejector Rod where the finish on theirs has been worn off, or the checkered tip might have gotten tooled up along the way, or theirs is simply bent...

THE ITEM IN THIS LISTING:

ITEM DESCRIPTION:   Smith & Wesson K & L Frame Ejector Rod, Size LONG ... (Intended ONLY for Revolvers with 3, 4, 6 and 8 3/8 Inch Barrels. DO NOT USE on any "Snub" Models with 2 or 2 1/2 Inch Barrels, you would need the SHORT version of this Rod for those Models!)

FINISH:   Factory Original BLUED.

CONDITIONFine Overall Condition, FACTORY NEW PRODUCT / Old Stock - NEVER INSTALLED. There are some minuscule detractions on the finish - most likely "Bin Marks" from earlier storage. There are only a few tiny markings from the tooling used to hold the part during the manufacturing process, and some faint variations in the depth of the bluing.

COMPATIBILITY:   ONLY for use on Vintage Smith & Wesson Revolvers manufactured from 1960 thru approximately 1985. The Threads on this Rod are a Left-Hand, REVERSE Thread - used on ALL Smith & Wesson revolvers from late 1959 and beyond.

WARNING: FITTING WILL BE REQUIRED!! It is almost guaranteed that there will be some minor fitting required - generally to the end of the front tip of the Ejector Rod, to allow the tip of the Rod to engage and "snap in" to the Locking Lug under the barrel. This typically involves anything from a light filing or milling of a fractional amount of material off of the Tip, and then re-touching the Bluing on the newly-fitted surface, if desired. It is also possible - but not likely, that the REAR end of the Ejector Rod may need to be fitted, based on any situation where fitment made to the FRONT is not adequate. WE RECOMMEND THIS PART BE FITTED, INSTALLED, AND FUNCTION TESTED PRIOR TO USE, BY A COMPETENT, EXPERIENCED GUNSMITH. ALL SALES ARE FINAL, AS IT IS ASSUMED THE PART WILL BE FITTED SPECIFICALLY, AND ONLY, TO THE DESTINATION REVOLVER the Buyer is intending it to be installed on. Please make sure this ENTIRE LISTING is read and understood completely, BEFORE purchasing.

These Vintage Rods are truly an exceptional, and scarcely-seen offering and offer Buyers with a Period-Correct replacement for their existing Ejector Rods, which always see heavy wear to the Finish, especially those on Blued revolvers where the Bluing is inevitably rubbed off from general use when ejecting the shells after firing. Although we cannot provide an "exact date" of the year of production, NOTE THE CIRCUMFERENTIAL GROOVE just behind the Checkering on the tip of the Rod: THIS GROOVE INDICATES THAT THIS ROD HAS REVERSE / LEFT HAND THREADS, typical of ALL Smith & Wesson Revolvers post 1959, when S&W switched from a standard Right-Hand Thread typically seen on very early production revolves - to the REVERSE / RIGHT-HAND Threads on ALL MODELS produced AFTER 1959.. which helped prevent the Rods from loosening as easily from the recoil impulse of the gun when firing. The width of the Groove on these Rods is typical of the period that a Model 19-4 or a Model 586 No Dash would have been produced, give or take a couple years ... But we would estimate that K and L Frame Revolvers that shipped between about 1975 to about 1985 would have used this exact Rod. There are certainly Older - and Newer models that could use this Rod, just be advised that although the general LENGTH would be correct, that there were variations in the length of the Checkering on the tip, and the width of the Circumferential Groove behind the checkering.

Please examine the image set provided, preferably on a large-screen desktop or laptop monitor in order get the best, close-up view of the item and its condition. We simply want the Buyer to have a reasonable expectation of the condition of the item once taking delivery.

As with any vintage gun part there may be minor imperfections and we have attempted to capture a fair rendition of the condition of the item in the image set. See photos for full description. What is pictured is included in this listing: To confirm, the buyer will receive exactly the item as seen in this listing's photoset, with the exception of the Dial Caliper (shown ONLY to illustrate to the Buyer the exact overall length of the Item in the Listing), and the Black Plastic Ring (simply used as a "stand" to allow for photographing the Item from different perspectives). Again, the Dial Caliper and the Black Plastic Ring are NOT INCLUDED in this Listing.

It is up to the buyer to determine fitment / compatibility. Please contact us with any questions regarding compatibility / fitment, or condition PRIOR to bidding/buying as all sales on gun parts are final - and remember, we must ship only to your shipping address listed in your Ebay profile so please make sure your shipping address is verified and correct prior to purchase. Thanks for looking!

USPS "SPEED OF DELIVERY"
Here's the Bottom Line, Folks:

As much as we've preferred NOT to include verbiage like this in our Listings over the years, Service Standards of the U.S. Postal Service have degraded. But, who wants to pay "double" to use UPS or FedEx? PLEASE CONSIDER THE FOLLOWING, so you are NOT DISAPPOINTED with the Speed of Delivery of your Order:

 - If your Order is URGENT: Contact us PRIOR TO ORDERING to have us ADD an ADDITIONAL SHIPPING METHOD(S) to the Listing, such as at least UPS Ground, UPS 3 Day Select, (or better) - And yes, it is going to cost more to accommodate. We are right down the road from a UPS Center that we can drop off at - Conversely, we avoid FedEx only because any drop-off facility we have access to is simply too far away. Generally speaking, to determine cost of using UPS Ground, simply double the quoted USPS shipping cost in the Listing (UPS 3-Day Select will be roughly triple the cost) - once the Listing is edited you will have exact costs to consider. DO NOT ANTICIPATE any order shipped with USPS will be "Fast", even Priority Mail. Reasons below:
 - At a BEST CASE SCENARIO: Orders we ship via USPS - even SAME DAY - will not make it out of our Local Post office and into our State's ONE Postal Distribution Center in any less than two more days. Occasionally, it might only take one day but that is the exception, not the rule from where we're located.
 - USPS Tracking "Overpromises and Underdelivers" constantly: For example, our Mail Carrier picks up on a Tuesday and once scanned, USPS Website says "Expected Delivery (i.e. going to Tennessee) is Friday", promising a 3-day delivery, when the package is barely even sorted thru our Regional Origin Distribution Center in the same state by the 3rd day, much less making it the rest of the way across the country, in three days!!
 - Ebay feeds off of the USPS Tracking info: Once USPS's Tracking "overpromises" with their Expected Delivery Date, Ebay will update your delivery date with the SAME DATA, which again is not realistic.
 - PLEASE ADD 2-3 Days in Transit to ANY ORDER that's shipped via USPS: This keeps things realistic.
 - If you're in a rush: We can use a different carrier, but it's going to cost more (as stated above) - and this change needs to be made prior to the order being placed. Thank you for your understanding of how the real world works!
