Provenance: Antique wood engraved print taken from the Pictorial Times which ran between 1843-1848. The Pictorial Times was launched as a rival to the Illustrated London News which was founded a year earlier. Both publications presented a vivid picture of British and world events � including news of war, disaster, ceremonies, the arts and science.
