Authentic Vintage Civil War Commemorative Set

Up for auction is a heavy, solid cast iron set featuring a pair of Civil War soldier bookends and a detailed miniature signal cannon. This set likely dates to the Civil War Centennial era (c. 1961–1965) and was manufactured by the Grey Iron Casting Company (John Wright division).

The Soldiers:

• Figures: One Union Soldier (Blue) and one Confederate Soldier (Grey).

• Design: Both soldiers are depicted in full uniform with rifles at their side, standing on rectangular green bases.

• Height: Approximately 7.5 inches tall.

• Weight: These are incredibly substantial, solid iron pieces.

The Cannon:

• Material: Features a solid brass barrel mounted on a black cast iron carriage with rotating wheels.

• Markings: The underside of the carriage is embossed with "926" and "1/2".

• Dimensions: Approximately 5.5 inches in length.

Condition:

This set is in very good vintage condition with its original painted finish. As seen in the photos, there is some minor paint chipping and "shelf wear" consistent with age, which adds to the authentic antique character and patina of the pieces. No cracks or repairs were found.

Total Weight: 6 lbs 9.8 oz (unpacked).
