Now over 100 years old, this Toasting Glass is decorated with an Iron Cross 2nd Class transfer and a painted gold rim with a further gold rim on the base. It is engraved with "4/20L" on the opposite side to the Iron Cross.
A 'Toast' is a form of ritual, during which a drink is taken as an expression of honour or goodwill. This glass may well have belonged to a Regiment or even an individual for use in toasting further recipients of the award.
The glass has clearly seen some usage as the gold rim is worn in several areas. Although the Iron Cross transfer remains clear and bright with no image loss. The glass itself has no chips or cracks only a couple of small, barely visible, 'scuff' marks on the side opposite the Iron Cross. There is no makers mark present.
