Description

The DLS RC50 is a unique 2-inch wideband tweeter from the respected DLS Reference Series, designed for high-end sound quality installations where precise imaging and detailed reproduction are essential. Unlike traditional tweeters that only reproduce high frequencies, the RC50 is engineered as a wideband driver, allowing it to cover both upper midrange and treble frequencies.

The driver features a fibreglass cone diaphragm, providing excellent rigidity while maintaining low weight. This allows the speaker to reproduce vocals, instruments and high-frequency detail with impressive clarity and accuracy.

A specially designed rear chamber enclosure helps improve sound dispersion and imaging, creating a more focused soundstage when installed on the dashboard or A-pillar and directed towards the listener.

The RC50 is intended for use in active crossover systems, where the installer can precisely control frequency ranges using a DSP or active amplifier. For optimal performance, DLS recommends a high-pass crossover between 800–1500 Hz (18 dB slope) and a low-pass filter around 18 kHz.

Thanks to its extended frequency response and specialised design, the RC50 is commonly used in high-end 3-way or active sound quality systems, where it can deliver exceptional staging, detail and realism within the listening environment.
