Low-noise amplifiers are generally used as high-frequency or intermediate-frequency preamplifiers for various types of radio receivers, as well as amplifier circuits for high-sensitivity electronic detection equipment. In the case of amplifying weak signals, the noise of the amplifier itself may interfere with the signal very seriously.
