Vaseline glass, also known as uranium glass, is a type of colored glass made by adding uranium oxide to the glass mixture. This gives the glass a distinctive yellow-green color and causes it to fluoresce brightly under ultraviolet (UV) light. It was most popular in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, produced by numerous glass manufacturers in the United States and Europe.
Glass slippers, particularly those made in decorative styles like this one, were popular decorative items during the Victorian and Edwardian eras. They were often produced as novelty items, souvenirs, or part of tableware sets. The pressed glass technique allowed for intricate patterns to be easily replicated, making these items accessible and widely collected.
