• New battery replacement was attempted by a third-party watch repair person on January 20, 2026. After opening the watch, it was discovered that the old battery had leaked slightly, so the old battery was removed and the battery area was cleaned. When the new battery was installed, the watch ran briefly and then stopped, so the new battery was removed from the watch. The watch repair person then noted that “this watch may need a new movement”, but could not guarantee that assessment.
