The Rolex Caliber 1030, introduced around 1950, was the brand’s first fully in-house developed automatic chronometer movement. Notable for its "butterfly" bi-directional rotor and 25 jewels, it powered legendary models like the Submariner and Explorer, setting a foundation for modern Rolex "Perpetual" movements with a 48-hour power reserve.
