Ginsberg signed with the Tigers in ‘44 and almost immediately went into the Military for two years, returning to the minors in ‘47 before he made his debut in the majors in ‘50. He’s credited with 14 years of service in the majors with 7 different teams. He was strictly part time player, playing over 100 games twice in his career, hitting .260 in 1951, but dipped to .221 in ‘52, without hitting for power. Thereafter, it was season upon season of part time play and warming up pitchers. In January of ‘62, the Mets signed him and by May of the same year he was released and left baseball. He finished with a little over 1700 at bats with 414 hits and a .241 lifetime average.
