Description of condition – what was checked

Our used lenses are manually checked before sale and divided into the following condition categories:

• Good: Technically fully functional with slight signs of wear. Lenses clean, no fungus, no fog, no major scratches.
• Acceptable: Technically functional with significant signs of wear. Lenses with possible slight scratches or dust inclusions.
• Defect: No longer functional – mechanical or optical defects. Suitable as a spare parts dispenser or for decoration.
• Bezels defective: Aperture mechanism is faulty or blocked. Remaining functions intact.
• Fungal infestation: Fungus in the lens system that can affect image quality. Mechanics intact.
• Fog: Internal glass clouding (e.g. due to moisture). Limitations in contrast or scattered light possible. Mechanics work.

We check these points:

• ✅ Focus ring
• ✅ Aperture ring (if available)
• ✅ Zoom mechanism (if available)
• ✅ Autofocus with camera (for AF lenses)
• ✅ Light transmission and lens condition

We are checking these points not:

• ❌ Tightness with weatherproof lenses
• ❌ Fine traces of oil on the aperture blades (unless relevant to functionality)
• ❌ Imaging performance in open aperture or extreme lighting conditions

Please note that each lens is unique. Slight differences in serial number, logo or wear are possible. The functional test is carried out with great care - there is no long-term testing or image evaluation.
