These shears are suitable for delicate pruning work, such as trimming dense foliage and pinching buds in intricate areas.
Note: Due to the sharp, slender shape unique to double-edged blades, they are not suitable for pruning branches, including small twigs.
New pruning shears have extremely sharp blades, so the edges may catch or chip if the blades strike against each other.
Until the blades have broken in, please start by cutting thinner branches whenever possible. When cutting thicker branches, place the branch near the base of the blades at about a 45-degree angle, and cut slowly with a slight rotating motion. Also, when applying force, please avoid twisting the blades and try to bring them down straight and vertically. This small extra care will help keep your shears in good condition for a long time.
Daily Maintenance
After use, wipe off sap and residue with a firm cloth before it dries, then apply a light coat of machine oil or rust preventive oil. Adding a drop of oil around the pivot screw and inner contact area will help maintain smooth cutting performance for longer. If hardened sap builds up on the blades, remove it gently using a hard plastic tool, such as a ruler-like scraper.
Please Note:
Do not use a whetstone to remove hardened sap, as this may wear down the blade edge. Also, please do not use cooking oil, as it can accelerate oxidation.
