Antique Japanese Wooden Masu Bucket
This traditional Japanese rice bucket, Masu or Ittomasu, was once used for measuring and storing units of rice (about 18L). Sturdy hardwood with iron holding it together, this bucket has two handles, a feature typically found on most masu. It comes with a heavy, solid wood pestle that can be used for pounding cooked rice into mochi.

- Good condition considering its age. Scratches, dents, marks and discoloration. Some insect damage on inside base and around handles. Iron bands have some rust. Wear and tear due to age. Please see the photos.
- We acquired this item from an antique auction in Tajimi, Gifu in Japan.
