    Versatile, reliable, adaptable

Why would anyone in their right mind want to use old lenses on their shiny new high-performance DSLR or mirrorless camera? The simple answer is that many older lenses can capture images that have that elusive quality known as character. And for photographers looking to create unique images that express their personal style, character can be even more important than resolution numbers, corner-to-corner sharpness, etc.

The problem with many modern lenses is that they often lack character, which is due to aberrations rather than the near-perfect lenses that are widely available today. Additionally, a fully mechanical lens is likely to take longer and be cheaper to repair than modern focus-by-wire lenses. You can also change camera systems or retire your mount without breaking your lenses. In extreme cases, some mirrorless lenses require firmware updates for each new body. So even if the mount remains, the lenses won't stay on this update list forever (for example, Nikon's new E lenses are not compatible with cameras that are only two generations old).

Precise and solid connection; no game

Fotodiox employs professional photographers in all areas of development and design to create products that are built to last. The Pro Series adapters are designed to withstand the rigors and demands of professional photographers. Our adapters are manufactured to precise tolerances and provide a solid, gap-free, wobble-free connection for stress-free use. No adjustments required! Fotodiox adapters can be removed and reattached to your camera as needed, remaining as precise as the day you purchased them.

all-metal construction; safe and secure fit

Fotodiox Pro adapters are made entirely of metal with no plastic to create a secure connection between your glass and your camera that will not wear out over time, ensuring the connection between lens and camera remains secure with every use. We use chrome plated brass brackets for improved durability and reliability. Our 24-month Fotodiox manufacturer's warranty applies to all Fotodiox products.

  • • Many lenses designed for DSLRs (particularly 85mm lenses and longer, most 50mm lenses, and all tilt/shift lenses) produce image circles large enough to cover larger medium format sensors (but their performance has been optimized only for their native formats).
  • • Wide angle 35mm lenses (lenses wider than 50mm) cause vignetting on Fujifilm G-mount cameras.
  • • This is a manual adapter, so lens functions that rely on electronic communication with the camera body (autofocus, AE metering, image stabilization, etc.) will be disrupted.
  • • Some cameras need to be set up in a certain way to work with our adapters, or you may receive a message such as "Error: Lens not attached - check lens". b

  • Because manual lens adapters do not provide power to the lens, these lenses cannot focus.
  • • Set exposure manually or meter using your camera's aperture priority (stopping down) mode.
  • • If your lens does not have a manual aperture control ring, the lens aperture will reset to its default position, which is either stopped down to its maximum aperture stop or opened to its smallest aperture stop, depending on the lens.

  • All images are for illustrative purposes only. Actual product may vary slightly due to ongoing design improvements.
