Golden Eye Ointment contains chloramphenicol, a broad-spectrum antibiotic used to treat bacterial eye infections, including:
Bacterial conjunctivitis (red, sore, watery eyes)
Minor eye infections caused by susceptible bacteria
Each pack contains 2 × 4g tubes.

Fast-acting antibiotic for bacterial eye infections
Suitable for adults and children (check pharmacist advice for infants)

Chloramphenicol works by stopping the growth of bacteria causing the infection, helping to:
Reduce redness and soreness
Clear bacterial eye infections
Relieve associated discharge and irritation
Wash hands before application
Apply a small strip of ointment to the affected eye(s) up to four times daily or as directed by your pharmacist
Gently close the eyelid to spread the ointment
Avoid touching the tip of the tube to the eye or any surface
Do not use for longer than advised by your pharmacist or doctor.
Are allergic to chloramphenicol or any ingredients
Have viral eye infections (e.g., viral conjunctivitis)
Have eye injuries, severe pain, or vision changes without medical advice
Most people tolerate Golden Eye well. Occasionally:
Mild stinging or irritation
Temporary blurred vision after application
Rare allergic reaction
Seek medical advice if severe or persistent reactions occur.
Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place
