Can I apply grease before installing the parts?
The drum rollers use sealed ball bearings, so no grease is needed. The idler pulley uses a self-lubricating bushing and shouldn’t need extra grease either. Too much grease can attract dust.

How can I tell if the belt is installed correctly?
Make sure the drum spins freely by hand after the belt is installed. If the drum is jammed by an obstruction or misalignment and the motor tries to turn it, the belt can be put under excessive tension and may snap within minutes.
