Vintage Japanese Folding Fan Case This is a vintage Japanese folding fan case/carrying sleeve, or sensubukuro. This case is made specifically for a maisen, or performing fan, and has a long tapered shape. It is made from gray and red silk fabric with decorative pottery vase designs. Inside is a tan-colored lining. The top folds over and is kept closed with a silk blue tie.
