Multicolor White And Brown Bird Molita
Hand sewn from layered cotton fabric, this colorful Multicolor White And Brown Bird Molita celebrates the traditional textile art of the Guna people of Panama. Each small panel is created using reverse appliqué, where artisans carefully cut and stitch several layers of cloth to reveal intricate patterns, animals, and geometric motifs. Every molita is made by our artisan partners for TraderBrock, supporting long term relationships with Guna communities in the Guna Yala region.
Molitas are traditionally uséd as parts of mola blouses, and today they make beautiful small works of art in their own right. You can frame this piece, incorporate it into a quilt or pillow, or display it on a shelf to bring a touch of vibrant Panamanian culture into your space. Because each molita is stitched by hand, no two are exactly alike, and small variations in color and stitching add to its character and authenticity.
