70s TV favourite
Stingray. Originally pressed as a
bonus for the
Super Deluxe 60th Anniversary
Blu-ray, the single
was meant to be mailed separately
to pre-order
customers, tucked inside a plain
card sleeve with
only a sticker for identity.
Copies of the box set have
long vanished but a small stack
of these records
lingered in a warehouse, quietly
awaiting oblivion.
The music itself, composed by
Barry Gray, brims
with brassy futurism. 'Main
Title/Stingray' surges
with heroic pomp, 'Maritimus
March' struts with
aquatic pageantry, and 'Jazz From
The WASPS'
swings with sly, mid-century
swagger. A relic
rescued at the eleventh hour.me!
