Hardness & Characteristics:
Akaboshi stone produced until around 1975 (Showa 50 era).
Hard, slightly sticky feel, fine medium-grit class stone.
Hand-mined and hand-split, carefully shaped by reading the stone’s grain and structure.
Also suitable for high-speed steel (HSS).
Ideal for adjusting scratch patterns and refining the cross-sectional geometry of the edge.
