A beautiful minimalist round handrail system by the fontHOUSE, made in our Peak District workshops and drawing on our experience of shopfitting and furniture-making for Heal's and House of Fraser.  

This handrail is finely finished with gently rounded ends for safety, and is designed to give a comfortable grip. Available as satin finished or unfinished/sanded (enabling you to apply your own stain/lacquer, etc., which may be important if you are trying to match existing furniture/fixtures)

This continuous Oak rail avoids ugly metal connectors found in some other systems.

We offer ready-made lengths to the nearest cm:

- at 90 degrees ('square-cut') as standard

- or angled to your own specified angle (please contact for details/advice): 30-45 degrees to the 

  horizontal is the normal range.

Lengths under 1.8m are particularly useful  for multiple stair turns or dog-leg staircases.

The listing includes Stainless Steel or Matt Black Steel brackets (please confirm which option via 'Personalisation' message ) for fixing into brick, stone or concrete , featuring a clean minimalist geometry; the effect is striking!

When you order a length of rail, brackets are included as follows:

up to 1.8m : 2 brackets

2.1m - 2.4m: 3 brackets

3.0m - 3.5m: 4 brackets

3.6m - 4.0m: 5 brackets

MATERIALS: White Oak from FSC-certified sustainable sources

SIZE: 44mm diameter round section with a flat underside to enable easy mounting of bracket plates

FINISH OPTIONS

Fine-sanded (no finish applied) to 240 grit, allowing you to finish with oil, varnish, stain, wax oil etc. to suit

OR

Clear Satin wax oil finish.  Satin is closer to Matt than Gloss in sheen level

BRACKETS

Classic stainless 'elbows', in 12mm solid stainless rod, hand-finished to a brushed satin sheen level or Satin-Black powder coated 

- 7.5cm projection from wall (wall to centre-line of handrail)

- single-point fixing wall plate, supplied with high quality Fischer plug and wall screw + 2 screws for each saddle (the point of  contact with handrail).  All screws are stainless to resist the tannins inherent in oak.

LENGTHS

Handrail lengths: up to 0.9m, 1.2m, 1.8m, 2.1m, 3.0m, 3.5m, 4.0m, 4.2m

If you need a special length between the above lengths, select the length just above your required length for trimming down

We do not use EVRI. Shipping to UK mainland (with exclusions below)

Certain outlying areas of Scotland, Devon and Cornwall will have either no service available, or attract a surcharge on the listed prices. Please check with us before you order if in doubt.

• DHL or ParcelForce next-day services (at this time, it's 1-2 days in practice)

• Despatch time: 4-5 days with stainless brackets; 5-7 days with black brackets

• Weekday delivery only for handrail; brackets may arrive separately via Royal Mail on Saturdays
