This as you can see is a MODERN wood chest with a hinge up lid and then a single drawer. It looks like 2 drawers but its not. Its just a fancy box for American HISTORIC U.S. SILVER HALF DOLLARS from 1939 to 1964.
Its the cabinet you got when purchasing the silver half dollars from a company to house them in as you went along. Not sure how much they cost, but this is a plush looking box which of course you can put anything you want in it these days, does not have to be coins. You could re-fit the interior to suit your own needs.
It has 9 of the original 16 silver cardboard boxes in situ, each box holds 3 coins in capsules. Again you could get rid of these and put what you want in it.
On the other hand you could collect the coins to go into the boxes. There are NO plastic capsules either.
So to make it clear there are NO coins in the chest and NO capsules in the ingot shaped boxes and there are 7 MISSING ingot boxes.
There is a key for the locks but they are just fancy really, they do work but not very well. Just decorative really. Hinges are good on the lid and it has 2 carry handles though and its a good display box.
Box is 15 inch x just over 13 inch x 7 and 3/4 inch tall.
It weighs approx. 5.75 kilos.
