Six-volume hardcover set of Abraham Lincoln by Carl Sandburg, published by Harcourt, Brace & Company. The set includes The Prairie Years (Volumes I & II) and The War Years (Volumes I–IV). These are classic early 20th-century trade editions, uniformly bound in dark blue cloth with gilt spine lettering.

Volume I of The Prairie Years is signed and inscribed by Carl Sandburg on the front blank, with a personal presentation inscription reading in part “as between coworkers and old friends,” followed by Sandburg’s signature. Only this single volume is signed; the remaining five volumes are unsigned. No deluxe limitation statements or numbering are present.

Copyright dates visible include 1926 for The Prairie Years and 1936–1939 for The War Years. The books feature illustrated plates and photographic material, as issued.

Condition: bindings are solid with light shelf wear and mild rubbing typical of age. Page blocks show expected toning and spotting consistent with early printings. No detached boards observed. No slipcases present.
