Authentic antique wrought iron fireplace chestnut roaster (hearth pan), featuring a finely perforated circular iron plate with riveted construction and a turned hardwood handle fitted with a brass ferrule. Designed for use over an open hearth, this form allowed chestnuts and other foods to roast evenly while being turned by hand.

The iron retains deep, honest patina consistent with 18th–19th century utilitarian hearth tools. Hand-forged construction is evident in the perforation pattern, riveted joints, and forged iron frame. The turned wood handle shows substantial age-related wear, contributing to the piece’s authenticity and visual character.

Stamped foundry or workshop markings are present along the rim and near the mounting bracket, visible in the close-up photographs. These markings are typical of period batch or maker identifiers.

A strong decorative and collector piece, well suited for hearth display, kitchen wall hanging, or use in traditional, European country, primitive, or curated interiors.

Condition: Structurally solid with no breaks or repairs observed. Surface wear, oxidation, and patina consistent with age and historical use.
