Description:

Antique Wm L Gilbert Mantel Clock Winsted Conn Brass Movement Key No Pendulum

Early 20th-century American mantel clock featuring a mechanical, key-wound brass movement by Wm. L. Gilbert Clock Co., Winsted, Connecticut. This is a classic wooden mantel / shelf clock with a spring-driven time and strike movement and a single-coil gong.

The movement winds and shows resistance. The strike train activates and produces a clear gong sound. The clock does not currently run, as the pendulum is missing. No servicing history is known. The brass movement is stamped by the maker, and the clock includes a period-correct brass winding key (size 65).

The wooden case displays expected age-related surface wear, scuffs, and finish wear consistent with normal use over time. The dial shows visible wear and discoloration appropriate to age. An impressed case number is present on the underside, consistent with factory production markings.

Approximate overall dimensions: 10” H × 19.75” W × 5.5” D
Approximate weight: 6 lb 11 oz (unpacked)

This clock is offered as found and has not been restored. A suitable project or collectible example of an early 20th-century Gilbert mantel clock, ideal for restoration, display, or inclusion in an antique clock collection.
