New linen placemats, now available.
Colour at the table, where linen and vintage lace come together. Joyful, everyday table settings made to be used and enjoyed.
These placemats are finished with a vintage French cotton lace border (from my lace collection). Made in a small batch and limited editions, far from any production-line process. Because the lace is vintage, each set has its own look and small variations.
Sold as a set of two:
Both placemats in the set are made in the same linen colour and with the same lace style. Please note: you may see other placemats in the same linen colour, but with a different lace border.
Made-to-order note:
It may be possible to make more of the same design, depending on lace availability. If you?d like a larger quantity or a different colour, contact me.
At Bobbins&Needles, I take pride in sourcing and curating the best quality materials for my customers. I am confident that it will exceed your expectations. So why settle for mass-produced placemat, when you can have a one-of-a-kind piece?

Please note that all our laces and linens are sold as found, unwashed and unused, they have been stored for many years so if any cleaning or ironing is needed, it will be left to the buyer. Before use, gently hand wash or soak in soft soap, rinsed and towel dried (no wringing!!) and let to air dry. The ancient folk wisdom says that it is better to spread the fabrics on a meadow and let the dew and the moon naturally whiten the fabric.
The color shades go from white to ecru and cream, and because the handmade lace was made by different women and threads, on some occasions the color of each roll from the same type differs slightly. They have been stored for many decades (almost a century), so it is possible that some of them may show dust or a light patina; this is precisely what gives them their unique, endearing charm. I try my best to show and describe any exceptional wear or damage.
