How Does an AC Condenser Work?
Hot Gas Inlet
High-pressure, high-temperature refrigerant vapor (~150°F/65°C) enters from the compressor, beginning the cooling process.
Heat Exchange
Ambient air (drawn by radiator fans/vehicle motion) flows through condenser fins. Refrigerant loses heat → Temperature drops below saturation point.
Condensation
Refrigerant undergoes phase change: Gas → Liquid (latent heat released), a critical step in the refrigeration cycle.
Liquid Outlet
High-pressure liquid refrigerant (~110°F/43°C) exits toward the expansion valve, ready for the next stage of the cooling process.
