A fantastic low owner/mileage unrestored LHD Spider in a rare configuration.

About of this car

This is a late series 2 Kamm tailed Spider registered new in Italy on 17.04.1981 in Naples and it remained in Southern Italy until imported by us in May 2025.

This Kamm tailed model was originally offered in 1750 form being quickly replaced by the ubiquitous 2 litre engine. A 1300 Spider Junior was also offered but the 1600 is a rare beast and especially so in this fabulous “bronzo” colour, complimented by a so stylish cream hood and trim.

Whilst there is much debate about the best Nord engine capacity, the original Duetto was a 1600cc car and this is a delightful free revving power plant with plenty of go.

This 3 owner example has a recorded mileage of 96000 klms (so 59000 miles) which looks to be the genuine recording from new, given the quality unrestored presentation of this car.

Unlike some examples of these, this one has obviously been carefully used and cherished with no rust, rust repair or accident damage.

We have registered the car with an age related registration, it is all taxes paid, NOVA cleared and with V5.

Bodywork

The body of this car has excellent panel fitment and zero rust issue. The paint has been redone in the past in the original bronze colour. This was a quality job as the finish is superb.

The chassis still has factory applied bronze colouring and is in remarkable rust free condition. The car has been cavity rust protected.

A new hood was fitted last year, so this is perfect, complemented by a new hood cover bag.

Mechanicals

Our car drives just right consistent with the low mileage and a big £4000 service just performed, including:

4 x new OE type Pirelli Cinturato tyres

New battery with warranty

Engine oil and filter changed

New spark plugs

New Sachs clutch

New transmission oil

Brake hydraulics redone including m/cylinder

New carburetor rubbers, full tuning

New air filter

Interior

This shows careful ownership. The seating, carpets and door cards are original and are all in very good condition, a period radio/cassette player is fitted as is a lovely deep dish Personal steering wheel. Being a run-out S2 car it also has the improved carpeting, seats and other features carried over into the S3 range; inertia reel seat belts are new.

Boot

Excellent with spare,  jack and toolkit.

Summary

This is a car for someone who wants something chic and a little different to the majority of Alfa Spiders; it’s in great condition and is superb to drive. Sold with original manual and sales brochure.
