This is a creative Kokeshi doll titled “Ikusanga”, originally designed by the renowned artist Sansaku Sekiguchi and later produced by his successor Izumi Oki, who apprenticed under him.

Sansaku Sekiguchi was officially recognized by the Japanese government as a “Contemporary Master Craftsman,” and received numerous prestigious honors including the Prime Minister’s Prize. Izumi Oki has also earned high recognition both in Japan and abroad for her refined craftsmanship.

This piece was opened only for photography and remains unused.
