The Cheetah 15K.5 is a fast animal, running at 15000RPM with 16MB Cashe and maintaining superb performance and reliability for applications such as email, business processing, transaction processing, decision support, storage and networks (SAN), networked attached storage (NAS), and internet and e-commerce. As true with all Seagate products, this high capacity hard drive storage key feature is data protection, but the newest one has an improved non-recoverable error rate by a factor of 10. Their exclusive IRAW (Idle Read After Write) refines date protection by verifying that data in the drive buffer was properly written simultaneous with drive idle time. Designed by manufactured by the same staff that delivered the previous four-award-winning generations, the Cheetah 15K.5 is built to operate exceptionally well and long, with its Error Correction Code which will significantly decrease the probability of lost data.
