Every city and town must have a Directory to not only give the names and addresses of its citizens, institutions and be a buyer's guide, but also to give that character of progressiveness that would record the names of its people for historical purposes. Every one has fore-fathers, these forefothers have made the history of this country.
Some day you will be the forefather, and your descendants can visualize your life's work quicker through the registration in the Directory of your time than in any other way. The Biographical History of the masses is contained in the Directory and in no other place. The appearance of this publication is Important to you and everyone. The main purpose for what the Directory is published is to record the Biographical History of the past and present generations of our community, for the memory of the present and future generations, and to make it easier for citizens and visitors to get necessary information and ser-vice. This is the duty of the citizens for the community.
It makes no difference who presents the idea. Someone should do it! No jealousy or hard feeling can take place in this matter. We are doing this for the benefit of the needy, for the prosperity of our community, and to pay tribute to those who are responsible for the success of Palmerton and above-mentioned places.
Every citizen of the community should realize the importance of this publication, and help as much as possible in its work.
Please, fellow citizens, help as much as possible, and God will help us to serve our duties successfully and hon-orably.
THE DIRECTORY
This Directory of Palmerton, Bowmanstown, Aquashicola, Lower Towamensing Township and Lehigh Gap will be published every five years. The First Edition of the Directory will be published in two volumes.
The First Volume of the Directory is in circulation. The Second Volume of the First Edition will be published in 1945. The circulation of the Directory is extended to every citizen of this city and vicinity. Your local Directory will be on file in Directory Libraries in other cities for free public use.
This directory includes information that is very valuable and handy in our private and social life. The information is published from different official and private publications.
