This is a VERY interesting piece. It was purchased from the estate of a private collector who had ALL KINDS of interesting artefacts. We don't have any specific provenance for this, if it is Native American, it is likely from northern Ohio, if not then we have no idea where it's origins lie.
It appears to be a biface hand axe, similar to a few neolithic neanderthal ones that I have seen listed.
It appears to have 2 eye holes carved into the face, they do not go all the way through, so I think they are ornamental and not for attaching the tool to anything.
