The Hamilton 921980 is a 1.3 inches quartz watch deeply rooted in the history of Hamiltons military line Khaki.
This model, 9219/921980, is the first model manufactured as a commercial model Khaki, originating from the 1.3 inches manual-winding military watch MIL-W-46374B supplied by Hamilton to the U.S. military from 1975 to 1983.
The case 921980 is mostly equipped with a manual-winding caliber, but this unit is an extremely rare model with a quartz movement.
The watch has a 0.69 inches lug width and a large crown without any engraving.
The dial has the word quartz on it, and features italic HAMILTON printing and a LANCASTER PA engraving on the back cover.
Even without a date window, the date changes with a click when the crown is pulled out one step.
The quartz mechanism tightly packed inside the watch, unlike later small modules, is impressive.
It features a matte black dial, luminous hands and white hour/minute hands that balance visibility and indication, a second hand with a large circle, Arabic numeral indexes and 13-24 hour display, and an acrylic windshield.
This is an L.L. Bean collaboration model.
There are fine scratches associated with use, and the condition can be confirmed in the photos.
An unused 0.71 inches nylon belt is included.
No accessories are included.
