Susan Glaspell, along with her husband George Cram Cook, founded the Provincetown (Mass.) Players in 1915. The group first performed TRIFLES on 8 August 1916. A few months later, on 13 November 1916, the Washington Square Players (New York City) performed the play. This is the Washington Square Players Edition! (The Washington Square Players would also perform a couple other plays by Ms Glaspell and Mr. Cook in the next 2 years.)
Unfortunately, the Washington Square Players only lasted from 1915-1918.
This edition was published by Frank Shay who also published a number of the Provincetown Players plays.
