Asterix, formerly Asterix the Gaul, is a French comic book series created on October 29, 1959 by French screenwriter René Goscinny and French cartoonist Albert Uderzo in No. 1 of the French newspaper Pilote. After the death of René Goscinny in 1977, Albert Uderzo continued the series alone, then passed the hand in 2013 to Jean-Yves Ferri and Didier Conrad. In 2023, the series will retain Didier Conrad as a cartoonist but Fabcaro will now write. The series has 39 volumes as of October 2021.
