How to Replace a Chainsaw Ignition Coil
Safety First: Before starting, ensure the chainsaw is off and the spark plug is disconnected. This will prevent accidental starts and ensure your safety during the repair.
Remove the Chain and Bar: To access the ignition coil, remove the bar and chain. This step provides you with enough room to work around the engine area.
Locate the Ignition Coil: The ignition coil is typically found near the engine, attached by screws. Look for the wire leading from the spark plug, which connects to the coil.
Unscrew the Coil: Using a screwdriver or wrench, carefully unscrew the bolts securing the ignition coil. Be mindful of any other connections that may be attached to the coil.
Install the New Coil: Position the new ignition coil in place and secure it with screws. Ensure the wire connection is tight and properly aligned.
Reassemble and Test: Reinstall the bar, chain, and spark plug. Start the chainsaw to check if it runs smoothly. If the engine starts without issues, the replacement is successful.
