Description:
The core function of an electric pressure relief valve is the same as all turbocharged pressure relief valves when the engine throttle suddenly closes (such as shifting gears or releasing the throttle), it releases excess high-pressure air generated at the compressor end of the turbocharger to prevent high-pressure airflow from backflushing the turbine blades (known as "surge"), protecting the turbocharger, and ensuring that the turbine can respond smoothly and quickly when the throttle is engaged again at the next moment. The biggest difference between it and traditional mechanical pressure relief valves (driven by intake pipe pressure) is that its opening and closing are precisely controlled by the engine computer (ECU) through an electromagnetic valve, rather than relying solely on air pressure difference.
