The SONY PS-X70 is a premium full-auto direct drive turntable produced in the late 1970s. It features SONY’s XTAL-Lock quartz control system, a slotless linear BSL motor for smooth and quiet rotation, and a fully automated mechanism driven by a dedicated motor and logic circuitry. This model was considered a high-end unit at the time, offering excellent precision, reliability, and handling.

As shown in the photos, the dust cover has scratches and the exterior shows wear appropriate for its age, but overall condition is good considering it is roughly 50 years old. During testing, quartz lock engaged properly, 33/45 RPM rotation was stable, full auto operation worked correctly, size detection function performed properly, and repeat mode functioned as intended.
Audio output cables and ground wire are directly attached to the unit.
